Nisha Palvia
Founder and Lead Choreographer

Nisha is a passionate and dedicated dance enthusiast with over 25 years of experience in Bollywood and Indian dance. Based in San Francisco, she brings energy, elegance, and a deep love for movement to every class and performance. Nisha teaches weekly classes at the renowned Smuin Dance Center, where she guides dancers of all levels through the vibrant world of Bollywood, semi-classical, bhangra, garba, and fusion styles, including western and salsa.

Known for her patience, warmth, and keen attention to detail, Nisha has a special gift for working with beginners and helping them grow in confidence and technique. In addition to regular classes, she choreographs and teaches custom routines for couples, bridal parties, large group occasions, and corporate events—always tailoring the experience to suit the group’s vision and style. Apart from being a full time management consultant, she continues to pursue her love for dance.

From the moment Divya first moved to music at the age of four, dance has been an inseparable part of her. School performances were just the beginning; her passion for dance led to her starting her college dance club and the exhilarating world of national group competitions. She discovered during this time the joy in creating movement, choreographing solos, duets and group pieces. In the last 20+ years, Divya has developed a unique skill to connect with almost any style of dance. She is a born performer and is eager to share that spark and inspire others through movement.
